Teresa MaryEllen Gilliam A Life Well Loved With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa MaryEllen Gilliam who left this world on August 18th, 2026 at the age of 83. She lived a life filled with love, family, friendship, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Upholding her legacy and memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Heather (Andrew) Masden, grandchildren: Hunter Hardesty, Hannah (Eric Posing) Hardesty, Jake Masden, Elizabeth Gilliam, Vanessa Gilliam, Lauren (Rick) Newman; Great-grandchildren: Addison Hardesty, Nora and Weston Newman; nephew, Brian Smith, and best furry friends: Gretchen and Honey. She was preceded in death by husband Donald E. Gilliam; children: Susan Gilliam and Donald Gilliam, brothers and sister-in-law, Peter Smith, James (Carolyn) Smith, parents Howard and Geneva Smith and niece Caroline Smith. Teresa had a beautiful way of bringing people together and making life more fun. Her friendships meant so much to her, and she treasured the people who became part of her life along the way. She loved a good time, a lot of laughter, and making memories with the people she cared about. Whether gathered around a bingo table, singing karaoke with friends, or simply enjoying an evening filled with laughter, she knew how to enjoy the moment and make the most of life. But above all else, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the greatest loves of her life. They were her heart, her pride, and her greatest joy. She cherished every moment she shared with them and took immense pride in watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being part of their lives. The love she had for her family was unconditional and endless, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she loved. Bingo was more than just a game to her—it was time spent with friends, plenty of laughs, and memories she truly cherished. And when there was karaoke, she was always ready to have some fun. Music brought out her joyful side, and there was perhaps no song more fitting than “Mustang Sally,” a favorite that could always bring a smile and get her singing along. She will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humor, her devotion to her family, her friendships, her love of music, and her ability to find joy in the simple things. She knew how to make people laugh, how to make people feel loved, and how to turn ordinary moments into memories. Though she will be deeply missed, the laughter, stories, songs, hugs, and memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Her life was a gift, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will be carried forward by everyone fortunate enough to have known her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
