William "Bill" Schramm Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William "Bill" Schramm age 85, lifetime resident of Chicago Heights passed away on March 6, 2016 at his home. Loving husband of 60 years to Anita (nee Perozzi). Father of Sandy (Gary) Thomas of Wilmette, James (Lynn) Schramm of Tinley Park and Krista (Eddie) Mirabelli of Park Ridge. Devoted grandfather of Chris (Lindsay) Thomas, Courtney Thomas, Kelly and Eric Schramm, Haley, Karlie, Joey and Nico Mirabelli. His wife, children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. Dear brother of Margaret Schramm of Pensacola, FL and Linnea Schramm of Chicago and wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his brothers Tom and Jimmy and his parents Lawrence and Emily. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Bloom Township High School, served in the Coast Guard (1950-1953), proprietor of Schramm's Sport Shop in Chicago Heights (1955-1965), served as Fire and Police Commissioner (1967-1971) and City Clerk (1971-1975) in Chicago Heights. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, an accountant at A & G Chemical and employee of Arnie Bauer GMC. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13th from 2 until 6 p.m. Funeral Service Monday, March 14th at 10:30 a.m. at Heartland Memorial Center, 7151 183rd Street, Tinley Park.
