Robert N. Benak

June 8, 1951 - January 9, 2016

Robert "Bob" Benak of Matteson died peacefully on January 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jean (nee Nelson), and his brother Jimmy. Bob was a loving father to Scott, Robby (Kristine), Shannon, Tracy and Joey, and a proud grandfather to Alex, Erin, Nicole and Alayna. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a firearms enthusiast. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for over 40 years, and retired from Yellow Freight where he was a mechanic for over 25 years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13th from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Heartland Memorial Center, 7151 W. 183rd St., Tinley Park, IL.
