Richard Arthur Baumgartner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Baumgartner, Richard Arthur Age 84 lifelong resident of the Southside passed away July 20, 2011. Richard is survived by his beloved wife Valerie, married on May 20, 1950, his daughter Dawn (Jim) Cummings of Snyder, Texas, sons Mark (Doris) of Peotone, Paul (Tamara) of Orland Hills; Richard was a grandfather to 10 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Brother Donald (Barbara) of Des Moines, Washington, Mother-in-law Alma Albers Sempert of Tinley Park. He was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth & John & sisters Lois Knisley & infant sister. He served in the Air Force from 1945-1946. Owned & operated Baumgartner Refrigeration in Tinley Park for 50 years. Former member of St. John’s in County Club Hills belongs to Gloria Dei EV Lutheran Church since 1974, serving in choir and leadership roles. Richard was a member of American Legion & VFW in Tinley Park & South Cook Barbershop Chorus. Visitation Sunday July 24, 2011 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tinley Park from 1-5PM, funeral to follow at 5PM. Committal will be at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood Monday July 25, 2011 at 11am; family will meet at church at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Arrangements handled by Heartland Memorial Center 708-444-2266.
