Marvin L. Meyer

December 8, 1922 - January 31, 2017

Marvin L. Meyer, 94, formerly of Tinley Park, passed away on Tuesday, January 31st in his residence at Clare Oaks in Bartlett. He is survived by his loving family, Children: Karen (Jeff) Meinertz of La Crosse, WI, Jean (Jack) Titolo of Richton Park & Connie (Frank) Taddeo of Bartlett; Grandchildren: Chad (Anna) Brak, Dana (Jay) Laufenberg, Michelle Laking, Nicholas, Jessica & Christina Taddeo; Great-grandchildren: Carlie & Liv Brak and Taylor & Paige Laufenberg. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, parents Rev. Henry & Esther (nee Bauer) Meyer & sisters Wilma Meyer, Betty Jung & Carol Seale. Mr. Meyer served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and retired after working as a mechanic for 42 years on the Rock Island Railroad. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Country Club Hills and loved gardening and golfing. Visitation will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 4247 W. 183rd St., Country Club Hills on Sat., Feb. 4th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment following at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee.
