Harold Patrick "Pat" Cassidy, age 92 of Homer Glen, passed away on August 28, 2015. Beloved husband of 65 years to Mary Therese (nee Edwards) Cassidy. Loving father of Kathleen (Ed) Skahill of New Lenox, Daniel Cassidy of Plainfield, Mary Karen (Jack) Brawley of Burlington, WI, Martin (Cathy) Cassidy of Mokena, Marilyn Cassidy of Houston, TX, Timothy (Shari) Cassidy of New Lenox and Patrick (Lori) Cassidy of Palos Park. Cherished grandfather of 21 and great grandfather of 14. Dear brother of Rosemary Danaher of Rockford, IL. Pat was a WWII Navy Veteran and he served on the Island of Tinian on the day the Enola Gay departed to drop the atomic bomb which ultimately led to ending the war. He was recognized in 2013 as an Honor Flight participant. Pat was hired as a teacher at Brother Rice High School in 1958 and retired as vice principal in 1989. He was a parishioner at St. Michael Church in Orland Park since 1960. A private family interment will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park. A Memorial Mass is being planned for a later date. Masses in Pat's memory or contributions to the Poor Clare Monastery of the Immaculate Conception, 12210 S.
