Donald W. Mergler Age 95 passed away on September 9, 2014. Retired Lt. CFD, Engine Company 58 and WW II Veteran. Cherished husband of the late Adeline "Janet" Mergler. Devoted father of Donna (Nick) Roseto, Heather Dodge, Heidi (Bob) Rowley, Crystal (Bob) Hofer, Lisa (Alan) Ippolito and the late Star Mergler. Proud gramps of Brian & Jeff (Cam) Levitan, Tanya (Dave) Kowalewski , Tony (Christina) & Samantha (Mike) Jacobson, David & Donald Fisher, Rob & Rick Hofer, Megan (Jim) Zerby, Mari (Jason) Kors, Nick & Gina Ippolito, Wendy (Chris) Missey and Nick (Mary) Roseto. Fond great grandfather of Lincoln, London, Hannah, Bella, Zach, Zoe, Justice, Noah, Love, Elijah, Connor, Kaylee, Nicky, Tommmy, James, Connor and Madison. Dear brother of the late Evelyn (late George) Burcham, late Ruland (late Annabelle), late Verna Ault and the late Kathlyn (late Amos) Conrad. Visitation Sunday 2-8 pm at Heartland Memorial Center 7151 W. 183rd St., Tinley Park with a service to be held at 7 pm. Cremation services will be private and burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
