Debra Sue Page

June 24, 1958 - February 15, 2022

Debra “Debbie” Sue Page, 63, of Steger, IL passed away suddenly Feb. 15, 2022. She is survived by her loving family: husband of 40 years, Geoffrey Page, sons: Jonathan (LeeAnn) Page of Waterford CT, Patrick (Jodie) of Virginia Beach, VA, Matthew Page of Waterford, CT. Grandchildren Lillian, Asher, Scarlett, Carter, and Clayton. Mother, Frances McKie. Siblings Sandi (Mike) Miyaki, Nancy (Mark) Hayes, Donald Powell, Robert Edward Powell, and Mark Page. She was predeceased by father, Paul Powell, sister Paula (Corky) Strader, brother Glen (Patt Reck) Powell. Debbie and Geoff were married Oct 1, 1981, after meeting at Illinois State University. Her commitment to her sons and passion to make sure all children's needs were met led her to serve on the Steger Little League as Board Member from 1992-2004, the PTA from 1992-2020, the Steger Playground Committee from 1995-1998, and the Steger School District 194 Board from 2009-2022. Debbie, "Mrs Page" aka "Coach Page" was a passionate Paraprofessional for the youngest students of School Dist. 170 for 25 years where she was also the assistant track coach for the last 12 years. Her crowning achievement is being “Grammy” to her five grandchildren. Absolutely nothing brought her more joy than her grandbabies and walking the beach in search of sea glass and special shells. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund to honor Debbie’s commitment to the children of Steger District 194. Donations can be made to Steger District 194 (3753 Park Avenue, Steger, IL 60475). The family is organizing a book donation for the children of District 170 in honor of “Mrs. Page’s” dedication to literacy. Please feel free to bring new children's books to the visitation.
